P2P File Sharing

What is file sharing? When files are shared digitally. The files can be movies, music, books, any assortment of things. And they can be shared in any method of ways from usbs to computer networks, to the web, to emails. What is P2P File sharing? Peer to peer is a specific type of file sharing, where average people share online files so that other average people can have it. It's invention has paved a way in giving people easy and free access to things that would normally cost. In the article called "Digital Pirates Winning Battle with Studios" in the New York Times, it mentions that the Batman movie was downloaded more than 7 million times. This method of file sharing is great for the affordable and access for the user, but the film companies and music companies themselves are finding they are losing millions of dollars. In the article, "Should Online Scofflaws Be Denied Web Access", in the New York Times, it mentions the entertainment industry losing 20 billion a year in sales because of P2P file sharing. What are some examples of P2P file sharing? Napster, BitTorrent, Kazaa

  1. Even though it's illegal, I still use P2P file sharing because I still download movies and music on a daily basis. There will always be new movies and music coming out every day so to me, there will always be P2P filing. The government do try to track people down and fine them, but even knowing that, people still do it.
